A MuleSoft Certified Integration Associate credential holder should be able to work as an informed member of a MuleSoft project team, with knowledge of core integration and API-led connectivity terminology and concepts. Certified candidates should be able to:
• Identify the roles and responsibilities, and lifecycle phases of a typical integration project.
• Recognize and interpret essential integration concepts and terminology used by MuleSoft architects and developers
• Recognize common integration problems, deconstruct them into their fundamental integration use cases, and identify the appropriate technologies to solve them.
• Explain the common technical complexities that are central in integration development.
• Describe the components and benefits of Anypoint Platform for system integration and API management.

MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 1

Effective February 14, 2024, Maintenance exams are no longer available. If you have a certification that is active as of January 1, 2024 then your certification will remain active through 2024. You do not need to complete a maintenance exam to maintain your certification status. More information about maintenance will be shared in 2025.

A MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 should be able to successfully work on basic Mule 4 projects with guidance and supervision. The MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 exam validates that a developer has the required knowledge and skills to design, build, test and debug, deploy, and manage basic APIs and integrations: moving from Anypoint Platform to Anypoint Studio and back. Certified candidates should be able to:
• Use MuleSoft-hosted Anypoint Platform to take a basic API through all the steps of its lifecycle: design, build, deploy, manage, and govern.
• Use Anypoint Studio to build, test, and debug basic integrations and API implementations.
• Connect to a range of resources including databases, files, web services, SaaS applications, and JMS queues.
• Perform basic data transformations using DataWeave 2.0.
• Control event flow and handle errors.
• Process batch records.

MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 2

A MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 2 should be able to independently work on production-ready Mule applications – applications that are ready to be used in a DevOps environment in professional software development projects and address and balance critical non-functional requirements including monitoring, performance, maintainability, reliability, and security. The MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 2 exam validates that a developer has the required knowledge and skills to:
• Expose production-ready Anypoint Platform-managed APIs from Mule
applications.
• Implement maintainable and modular Mule applications and their Maven builds.
• Implement monitorable Mule applications.
• Implement performant and reliable Mule applications.
• Secure data at rest and in transit.

The certification expires two years from the date you pass the exam. To extend the certification validity after this date, you can take this exam again.
Passing the exam also makes you eligible to renew your MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 certification for two years from the date you pass the Level 2 exam. You will be sent a form that you need to submit to confirm the extension.

MuleSoft Certified Hyperautomation Specialist

A MuleSoft Certified Hyperautomation Specialist should be able to develop hyperautomation solutions across the Salesforce and MuleSoft products. Certified candidates should be able to:
• Design and implement solutions using best practices through all the lifecycle phases of a typical hyperautomation project.

The MuleSoft Certified Catalyst Specialist exam validates that the candidate has the required knowledge and skills to:
• Identify and define the key pillars and concepts of Catalyst including playbooks and delivery approaches, assets and their life cycles, terms of use, types of engagements and phases, delivery models, and typical roles and responsibilities.
• Organize business environment drivers, organizational vision and strategic goals, objectives, KPIs, and initiatives into a logical network of influences.
• Apply Catalyst principles to an architectural design to maximize reuse and reuse potential without neglecting short-term objectives.

MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect - Level 1

A MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect should be able to define and be responsible for an organization’s Anypoint Platform strategy. The MCPA – Level 1 exam validates that an architect has the required knowledge and skills to direct the emergence of an effective application network out of individual integration solutions following API-led connectivity across an organization using Anypoint Platform. Certified candidates should be able to:
• Optimize and shape the Anypoint Platform deployment in the specific organizational context, working with business, infrastructure, InfoSec, and other teams.
• Define how Anypoint Platform is used in conjunction with other tools and applications in the organization.
• Define the usage of Anypoint Platform and the corresponding organizational and process changes needed to help the platform be sustainable.
• Provide guidance and drive the creation of standards, reusable assets, and automation required for scale and multi-LoB adoption.

MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect - Level 1

A MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect should be able to drive and be responsible for an organization’s Anypoint Platform implementation and the technical quality, governance (ensuring compliance), and operationalization of the integration solutions. The MCIA - Level 1 exam validates that an architect has the required knowledge and skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate functional and non-functional requirements into integration interfaces and implementations. Certified candidates should be able to:
• Create the high-level design of integration solutions and guide implementation teams on the choice of Mule components and patterns to use in the detailed design and implementation.
• Select the deployment approach and configuration of Anypoint Platform with any of the available deployment options (MuleSoft-hosted or customer-hosted control plane and runtime plane).
• Design Mule applications for any of the available deployment options of the Anypoint Platform runtime plane.
• Apply standard development methods covering the full development lifecycle (project preparation, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support) to ensure solution quality.
• Advise technical teams on performance, scalability, reliability, monitoring and other operational concerns of integration solutions on Anypoint Platform.
• Design reusable assets, components, standards, frameworks, and processes to support and facilitate API and integration projects.
